To get results in any area of our lives – whether we’re pursuing a new job, a more flexible body, or a passionate relationship – we have to take action. The fact that you are actively searching for your soulmate online means that you are already taking this very important step.
Yet as essential as action is to meeting the man or woman of your dreams, it’s still only part of the equation. There are other potent forces that are available to help you attract the kind of partner you really want and hasten your inevitable rendezvous with them.
As the author of a new book called The Soulmate Secret, I have helped hundreds of people attract big love into their lives, and I’ve found that the combination of logical action and focused intention makes the journey more effortless and a lot more fun.
The universal Law of Attraction states that we draw to ourselves whatever we focus on with passionate intention. This explains why carrying a grudge about a past heartache only tends to draw more disappointment into our lives; and it also highlights how important it is to create a clear vision of the type of relationship you want to manifest.
In my book, I talk about a project that I call Treasure Mapping for Love which uses words, images and symbols to evoke within you the feeling that you and your soulmate are already together and very much in love. I’ve witnessed dozens of incredible connections that have unfolded as a result of people doing this one simple exercise… and the great news is, it works whether you believe in it or not! Let me give you an example.
As the founder of a successful software company, my friend Sean travels several times each week, logging over 500,000 miles per year for work. Sean desperately wanted to meet the right woman to settle down and start a family with, but had no idea how he would ever meet someone given that he was rarely in the same city for longer than a couple of days.
One day while Sean and I were having lunch, I suggested that it really wasn’t necessary for him to figure out how it would happen; he just needed to get crystal clear about what exactly he was looking for in a partner. I encouraged him to create a Treasure Map, and although he openly admitted that he was quite skeptical of all this “tree hugging stuff” (as he fondly referred to it), he decided to give it a try.
He set an intention to find his perfect match, created a Treasure Map filled with images of happy couples lying in the sand and hanging out in the backyard by a fire-pit, and chose one image in particular – that of a man with a kid on his shoulders – to upload to his iPod and cell phone so he could look at it daily.
A couple of months later, Sean was on a flight home from Orlando, where he had given a speech. Although he usually spent the whole flight working or catching up on emails, this time he happened to notice the flight attendant, who looked remarkably similar to one of the images on his Treasure Map. About an hour later, Sean overheard a passenger speaking rudely to one of the attendants and was moved to take action. As he came to the flight attendant’s defense, he found himself looking into the eyes of Pia, his future wife.
After a fifteen-month courtship, Sean whisked Pia away on a seven-star vacation and proposed to her in the most romantic way imaginable. The simple act of Treasure Mapping provided the power boost Sean needed to start paying closer attention to opportunities for connection that he hadn’t noticed before.
As someone who didn’t meet and marry my soulmate until I was forty-four, I know how daunting it can be to find “The One,” especially when you’re over the age of thirty-five. But I also know that finding your soulmate is possible – regardless of your age, your body type, your financial situation or your personal history – if you’re willing to prepare yourself on all levels to become a magnet for love. Keep doing what you’re doing: stay in action, refine your preferences, meet new people, take risks, and manifest a cosmic power boost to help bring you and your beloved together.
