Your Complete Guide To Condoms

We really can’t tell you enough how important condoms are. Seriously, you should always use condoms when you’re having sex. ALWAYS.
Why? Well so you don’t get pregnant or get STDs. And because it’s responsible. And because there’s no good excuse not to use them.
You might think it’s just up to guys to buy condoms, but it’s not. You can totally buy condoms, and you totally should! Why rely on someone else to keep you safe?
I know, I know. There are tons of options and it can be really confusing. Fortunately, you have us!

No Lambskin
Lambskin condoms are made out of sheep intestines. While they do protect against pregnancy, they do not protect against any STDs which is a major no, no.
People reach for lambskin as an alternative to latex if they’re allergic, but there are other solutions.

If you are allergic to latex, use polyurethane condoms instead. Polyurethane is a type of plastic, and these condoms protect against pregnancy and STDs. But be careful because reports say that they’re less flexible and elastic, so they have the tendency to break more frequently.

Condoms come in a variety of sizes, so how do you know what to pick? Well to tell you the truth, it doesn’t really matter. Magnums are allegedly designed for men with larger penises, but it’s a marketing tactic. The consensus is that any size will do!

Yep, condoms come in flavors too! There are all kinds from banana to strawberry to chocolate. They’re designed to make oral sex safer and a little more fun, but they might not be safe for anything other than oral. If you’re using flavored condoms, check the box to see if they can be used for intercourse.

Some condoms are textured. They can be ribbed or studded and are designed to amp up the pleasure scale for you and him. They still protect against pregnancy and STDs, they’re just made to spice things up a little! And don’t feel like you need to go searching for a textured condom. They don’t make that big of a difference and smooth can feel pretty great too.

Condoms can also have built in lube or spermicides. Lube can be anything from regular to warming to cooling. And I say look for condoms with lube because lube makes getting a condom on easier and can make sex feel a whole lot better.
Spermicidal condoms, on the other hand, actually aren’t that much more effective than normal lubed up condoms and some reports say they’re even less effective. Plus, spermicidal condoms have a shorter shelf life and can cause urinary tract infections in women. So, why just just pass on the spermicide, right?
Seriously, condoms are nothing to be scared of. They’re around to help you have a happy, healthy and sexy sex life!
Take responsibility and buy them for yourself so you don’t have to rely on your partner. Always, always, always use them!
Do you have any questions about condoms? Do you ever buy them? Are you scared to?
